As a collective membership, we saw the first fruits of our leadership’s negotiation preparations in the survey that was just released. The result: frustration and apprehension that the 2024 Basic and Area Standards Agreements will be bargained in the same concessionary manner as previous years.

 

If we are going to achieve a contract that reflects gains rather than stagnation or loss, we must be willing to fight. We must tell our union leaders that we are prepared to wage a battle against the untethered greed of the studios. IATSE leadership must hear that we will only support a strong and impassioned campaign to demand what we deserve.

Show that IATSE members are strong, and that the AMPTP’s admitted attempt to starve us has only created union workers willing to do whatever it takes to forge a sustainable future. Give our leadership the power they need to fight for us. The AMPTP and the studios haven’t broken us. They can’t break us. We are the miracle workers that make their dreams come true.
